The 3 C’s to Writing for Social Media

Writing for social media reminds me of when I started taking a kickboxing class when I was younger.

There was definitely a right way to be doing it. I was definitely not doing it that way.  It was…bad. It was very bad.

Thankfully, the internet was not as big then...

It just seemed like there was so much I “should” be doing and trying to do it all together was a big, old hot mess.

I hate complicated things. There’s no need for it. Same with our social media.

This is your business. You’re sharing what you love. So let’s get rid of all the noise and make it easy.

Here are 3 C’s that you can keep in mind to make writing for social media. Easy p’easy lemon squeezy.

The 3C’s of Writing for Social Media

1. Clarity

If you are confused while you’re writing, then your audience is confused.

Take a second and figure out what you want to say before writing it down.

Who are you writing to? What do you want them to do?

The key with social media writing is sticking to ONE idea and then stopping.

2. Concise

Don’t say too much. (See above – ONE idea).

3. Consistent

The key to rocking it hard on social media is not giving up. You got to not quit before the miracle.

You know who didn’t quit and got super famous? Leslie Nielsen was 54 when he was in Airplane!

Do you want to imagine a world where Leslie Nielsen wasn’t famous and in movies? I do not.

I mean...come on!

So don’t give up. Get your message out there! And remember – consistently does not mean frequency.

What’s your biggest struggle with social media content? Let me know!
